Bathgate film society wins £1000 in lottery money

Bathgate Regal Film Society have received a £1,000 lottery grant and have been congratulated by MSP Fiona Hyslop.

The MSP for Linlithgow wrote to Gail Whyte, of the society, after the group was handed the cash boost from the Awards for All Big Lottery Fund.

Fiona told the West Lothian Herald and Press: "I am delighted for Gail and her team.  The Awards For All Programme exists to help groups do things they otherwise may not be able to do and this grant will go a long way for the Film Society in helping their film rentals and afternoon activities for children.

"The Society will make a wonderful contribution to Bathgate's film and arts scene and provide entertainment for people across West Lothian."

The next film showing at the Regal Theatre will be An Education on October 6.

Great News! My mum used to work there as an usherette during her courting days in the early 1950..... good to keep up the traditions
